Madrid has been the capital of Spain since 1562, and has approximately 4,000,000 inhabitants. It is located in the centre of the country, and it is said that from Madrid you can get to anywhere in the country in 4 hours by car. Being the capital, the city is the heart of Spain, in more than one sense. It is the biggest city in Spain, with a clear cosmopolitan vibe, but is also a typical Spanish city in many ways.
During the day, the city has a commerical and working environment, very different from that at night, where the city is full of life and animation, with many bars, restaurants, cafes, clubs - not surprisingly the people from Madrid are known as the biggest part animals in the world!
In Madrid, you will notice the importance of the siesta. The people from Madrid aren´t in the streets until past midnight, and then they stay out until 4/5am, despite having work the next morning! You will discover that tapas is a must, before going to the pub to dance, and "churros with warm chocolate" are compulsory after a night out when the pubs and discos close.

In case the student doesn´t like this type of accommodation, the school will try to change it as quickly as possible.
